RWJBarnabas Health is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for the Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. This hourly, full-time role supports the Pharmacy department with medication dispensing, order processing, and sterile/non-sterile preparation.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma, fluent English, and complete PTCB certification within six months of hire. Benefits include PTO, health insurance, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
• PTCB certification required within six months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Collecting and processing medication orders prior to distribution.
• Drug distribution: refilling unit-dose medication bins and delivering contents to nursing units.
• Maintenance of all automatic dispensing machines
• Removing expired medication from stock
• Restocking code carts
• Preparing and labeling outpatient prescriptions
• Preparing and labeling extemporaneously compounded non-sterile pharmaceuticals
• Sterile and non-sterile product preparation
• Performing required calculations for all medication dispensing and compounding
• Using aseptic techniques
• Maintains the integrity of laminar air flow hoods by cleaning and following procedures
• Monitoring IV schedules and unused IV solutions on select nursing units to increase efficiency and avoiding waste
