Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in the Wake Forest Baptist Pharmacy. This PRN, part-time role involves assisting with medication preparation, labeling, and distribution, including hazardous drugs, under supervision.

You will handle inventory, documentation, immunization certification, and contribute to patient safety and efficiency. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and pharmacy-related training, with preference for prior pharmacy experience,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pharmacy technician course preferred.
• One year of pharmacy experience preferred.
• North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration within 30 days of employment.
• PTCB/NHA (CPhT) within 18 months or enrollment in ACPE pharmacy program.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist in preparation and distribution of medications.
• Select, prepare, and label medications including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assist with medication distribution tasks.
• Screen calls and route using proper etiquette.
• Assist in pharmacy procurement, inventory control, and outdate checking.
• Document removal, stocking and wasting of controlled substances where applicable.
• Perform nonsterile compounding per USP standards.
• Perform sterile IV admixture using aseptic technique where applicable.
• Inspect storage areas for policy compliance.
• Record patient demographics and data entry into pharmacy system.
• Develop competence in third-party billing functions.
• May obtain immunization certification and immunize under supervision.
