Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support paraprofessional tasks and ensure high-quality pharmacy service in a hospital setting. The role includes IV compounding, inventory maintenance, and rounds to nursing units.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, Texas licensure or intern license, and at least 1 year of pharmacy experience. IV certification is preferred, with certification required within six months if not currently certified.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• IV certification preferred; if not certified, certification within six months.
• Registered technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or Pharmacy Intern License.
• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience required.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Computer skills preferred but not required.
• Maintain confidentiality and patient privacy per department and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Answer the telephone and front door.
• Compound products in IV Lab using sterile, aseptic technique.
• Gather items for requisitions, orders, crash carts for pharmacist review.
• Maintain clean, organized work area; restock medications.
• Assist in maintaining inventory and notify purchasing as needed.
• Maintain drug storage systems and restock as required.
• Perform unit inspections/cycle counts outside the department.
• Deliver medications to nursing units and collect discontinued orders.
• Conduct non-scheduled rounds as required.
• Process charges and credits for floor stock, narcotics and returns.
• Process medications in OR/IV lab/first fill for dispensing.
• Train new employees as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
