Job summary

Nicklaushealth is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in inpatient operations. You will process orders, prepare general and specialty medications (chemotherapy, TPN, and cardiac preps) and manage IV admixtures, syringes, and unit doses.

You will also handle floor stock, maintain inventories, answer phones, provide customer support, and ensure timely deliveries to nursing units while complying with hospital standards.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent preferred.
• Graduate of an approved pharmacy certification course preferred.
• Three years of hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• Must be registered in the State of Florida as a Pharmacy Technician and maintain active status.

Responsibilities

• Answers the phone according to departmental standards and offers excellent customer service.
• Prepares and delivers medications per hospital standards to Nursing Units and handles returns.
• Maintains participation in Lean committee initiatives.
• Performs periodic inspections to remove outdated medications before expiration.
• Receives daily shipments of medications and reports barcodes into the computer system.
• Assists with stocking, cleaning, and organizing the storage room.
• Prepares medications for patient use from stock and bulk supply.
• Prepares unit doses and cassette fills for patient use.
• Prepares IV admixtures, syringes, and large volume IV medications using proper aseptic technique.
• Weights, counts, and measures medications; labels and prepares for pharmacist check.
