Job summary

Trinity Health MI is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to provide daily supportive services under pharmacist supervision in a hospital pharmacy. Responsibilities include processing medications, assisting with dispensing, and supporting inventory and IV admixtures in a quality-focused environment.

The role requires Michigan licensure, a high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of a pharmacy technician program with hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician educational program and/or completion of an Associate's Degree preferred.
• Licensure in the State of Michigan is required.
• Previous hospital-based pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets physician's medication orders, assists with filling, processing and dispensing of medications, re-packages and labels medication, including bulk supplies, with final check performed by a pharmacist.
• Maintains cleanliness and aseptic technique while following established departmental compounding practices and procedures when mixing intravenous admixtures including IVPBs, large volume parenterals, and total parenteral nutrition, if necessary.
• Delivers medications to nursing units' automated medication dispensing cabinets (ADC) and to patient care areas on a regularly scheduled basis.
• Prepares medications and loads/unloads into ADC with barcode scanning and maintains inventory for nursing unit ADCs and unit dose drawers.
• Supports drug inventory including rotation and restocking of dispensing areas; keeps work area clean and orderly.
