Job summary

AHMC Anaheim Regional Medical Center is seeking a California-licensed pharmacy technician to maintain drug inventories, patient medication profiles, and prepare medications under pharmacist supervision. You will assist in dispensing medications, restock supplies, and support adherence to state law and AHMC-ARMC policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Has completed a course of training for pharmacy technicians as specified by the California Board of Pharmacy.
• Minimum one year acute care hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic computer systems and keyboard use.
• IV compounding and sterile technique experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Consistently applies infection control policies/practices.
• Understands and practices standard precautions for self and others in patient care activities.
• Understands and practices appropriate disease-specific isolation.
• Appropriately handles and disposes of sharps as required.
• Ensures sterility of supplies and equipment.
• Meets population/age specific competencies per unit addendum.
• Attends department education/training, inservices, and staff meetings.
• Verifies attendance at staff meetings or reading of staff meeting minutes.
• Prepares medications and sterile products in accordance with department standards.
• Complies with medication use policies and procedures and assists in dispensing all medications per legal order.
• Demonstrates the ability to utilize and troubleshoot pharmacy computer systems.
