Job summary

East Alabama Medical Center seeks a Pharmacy Technician to perform duties related to preparing and dispensing medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of hospital pharmacy experience, or 2 years in a hospital inpatient setting, or at least 4 years of retail pharmacy experience (FTE).
• Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or graduate from an accredited technician program with CPhT status; certification must be maintained.
• Preferred CSPT certification is a plus.
• Preferred experience includes two years of hospital inpatient experience and compounded sterile preparation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications under supervision of a pharmacist.
• Maintain inventory by verifying receipt, restocking, and removing outdated medications.
• Provide excellent customer service to physicians, nurses, and hospital staff; work collaboratively with the pharmacy team.
