Job summary

Children’s Hospital Colorado is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing and patient care. Under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, you will prepare medications, assist with safety programs, and participate in inventory management in a busy hospital environment.

The role requires Colorado PHAT certification and NABP/PTCB/NHA-approved credentials, with eligibility for shift differentials and a 40-hour workweek. Benefits and career development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Colorado Pharmacy Technician (PHAT) certification.
PTCB or NABP certification accepted by NABP such as PTCB or NHA.

Responsibilities

Independently prepares medications for dispensing per hospital policy.
Assists with safety and quality improvement projects in the department.
May assist with shipping medications, monthly clinical assessments and ordering medications.
Interacts with patients, families, providers, and co-workers about benefits and insurance coordination.
Maintains inventory, cycle counts, unit inspections and medication transfers.
Uses pharmacy software to prepare medications and verify lot/expiration numbers.
