Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the OP Retail Pharmacy. The role works under a licensed pharmacist and involves preparing medications, assisting with safety and quality initiatives, and coordinating with teams to ensure accurate dispensing.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Colorado Pharmacy Technician (PHAT) Certification.
• Certification from NABP-approved board (PTCB or NHA).

Responsibilities

• Independently prepares medication for dispensing according to hospital policy.
• Assists with safety and quality improvement projects for the department.
• May assist with shipping medications, monthly clinical assessments and ordering medications.
• Interacts with patients, families, providers, and co-workers including point of sale, benefit investigation and insurance coordination.
• Maintains inventory management and restocks medications as needed.
• Prepares medications in the pharmacy software with verification of lot and expiration numbers.
