Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate's preferred.
• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification from a Nationally recognized organization.
• If exceptions are made, certification must be obtained within six months of employment.
• Current Pharmacy Technician Licensure in the State of Michigan.
• Previous experience as a retail Outpatient Pharmacy Technician required, with transcription duties desired.

Responsibilities

• Performs medication history assessments for new admissions, documenting each medication (drug, dose, route, frequency, indication, last dose).
• Verifies patient allergy information and documents substances, allergy category, and reaction details.
• Obtains medication histories and allergies for new admissions using patient interviews and external sources.
