Job summary

Concord Hospital Health System seeks a Compounding Specialist to perform sterile, nonsterile, and hazardous compounding under supervision, ensuring competency in USP guidelines. The role supports medication preparation, dispensing, and delivery to patient care units, physician offices, and clinics.

Independently handles complex tasks, serves as a resource for technicians, and participates in training/mentoring while maintaining pharmacy operations and automation functions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified as Technician through an accredited program required.
• 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and compounds sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous products following applicable USP guidelines.
• Completes administrative tasks associated with pharmacy operations, IV room, and automation.
• Stocks, maintains, and troubleshoots automated dispensing machines (ADMs) and other pharmacy automation.
• Maintains competency and performs duties of a Pharmacy Technician 2.
• Assists with training and mentoring of Pharmacy Technician 1 and 2 staff.
• Completes hands-on and didactic training as required by applicable regulatory bodies.
• Performs other projects or duties as assigned.
