Job summary

Advocate Health in North Carolina is seeking a part-time Pharmacist at Atrium Health Union West – Pharmacy. The role supports clinical pharmacy services with variable shifts (first/second) and weekend coverage.

Requires ACPE-accredited PharmD or NABP FPGEC with state licensure eligibility; hospital experience preferred. The position emphasizes medication therapy management, patient education, and safety, with opportunities to precept students and contribute to quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensure in state of practice or eligible for reciprocity
• Immunization and non-vaccine injectable certification may be required
• Credentialing and privileging required based on area of practice
• No previous hospital pharmacy experience required; hospital experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversees pharmaceutical care and designs medication therapy regimens
• Provides counseling to patients and caregivers on therapy, adverse effects, and adherence
• Interprets medication orders and prescriptions accurately
• Supports medication safety and quality improvement activities
• Manages formulary adherence and medication-use processes with the healthcare team
• Prepares, dispenses, and oversees storage and handling of medications
• Serves as a preceptor for students and residents
• Directs and checks the work of pharmacy support staff to ensure safety and efficiency
