Job summary

Advocate Health's Atrium Health Union West Pharmacy in Matthews, NC is seeking a part-time pharmacist (16 hours per week) to support pharmaceutical care and patient education.

Responsibilities include reviewing orders, counseling patients, and participating in medication safety initiatives. A pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school and NC licensure are required, with immunization certification possibly needed. Schedule includes variable first/second shifts and some weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Doctorate in pharmacy from ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy required, or an FPGEC certificate from NABP
• Licensed in the state(s) of practice or eligible for reciprocity required
• Immunization and non-vaccine injectable certification required based on area of practice

Responsibilities

• Oversees pharmaceutical care, including retrieving and evaluating biomedical literature and designing medication therapy regimens
• Counsels patients and caregivers on medication therapy, adverse effects, compliance, and proper administration
• Reviews and interprets medication orders and prescriptions
• Participates in medical emergencies and supports medication safety and quality improvement activities
• Ensures proper storage, handling, and dispensing of medications
• Precepts and mentors pharmacy students, residents, and staff
• Directs and checks the work of pharmacy support staff for safety and efficiency
• Adheres to all regulatory requirements and department policies
