Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center seeks a Registered Pharmacist for the Waverly Pharmacy. You will dispense medications, verify orders, and collaborate with clinicians to optimize therapy. You will educate patients and families, maintain records, and ensure compliance with regulations.

The role includes supervising pharmacy technicians and interns, staying current in practice, and contributing to departmental missions at SOMC.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist education and licensure requirements as outlined in the job posting.
• Licensure/credentialing criteria include licensure or awaiting license status and BLS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies per prescriptions.
• Checks accuracy and appropriateness of all medications dispensed.
• Intervenes clinically with physicians to optimize drug therapy.
• Maintains patient profiling and charging records for orders.
• Follows regulations and hospital policies for pharmacy services.
• Serves as a drug information source for staff and patients.
• Assists Director of Pharmacy with assigned reports or projects.
• Maintains professional competency and current knowledge in pharmacy.
• Assigns and supervises technicians, students, interns and externs.

Education

High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (5 year) is required

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) is also preferred
