Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Pharmacist to support antimicrobial stewardship and medication-use optimization within the Pharmacy Department.

The role involves collaborating with clinical staff, performing antibiotic utilization reviews, and contributing to protocol development and reporting.

Qualified candidates hold a BS or PharmD, Massachusetts licensure, hospital pharmacy experience preferred; signing bonus may be available.

Qualifications

• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred (including unit dose and IV admixture)
• OR equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted

Responsibilities

• Enhance the quality of medication use through antimicrobial stewardship. Work collaboratively with clinical pharmacists, medical staff, and other healthcare workers to promote, advise, and guide the development of successful local antimicrobial stewardship programs.
• Assist local staff in program assessments, antimicrobial utilization reviews, developing program structures and interventions, and identifying opportunities to optimize antimicrobial use.
• Participate in the development, education, and communication of infectious disease-related protocols to improve antibiotic decision-support for Antibiotic Stewardship Community Network clinicians relating the selection, dose, duration, and monitoring of antimicrobials.
• Participate in the preparation of reports intended to document the impact of stewardship programs on quality, safety, and cost of antimicrobial use.
