Job summary

St. Mary's General Hospital in Passaic, NJ is seeking a PBX Operator / Receptionist to join a community-based medical center. You will answer the switchboard, page overhead, greet visitors, and direct them to the appropriate departments.

This Per Diem role features a variable shift and requires strong communication and interpersonal skills. Previous PBX experience is preferred, along with reliable office or receptionist experience, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Previous PBX experience preferred.
• Previous experience in office or receptionist.
• Effective written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Customer Services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer the switchboard and pages overhead, greet and direct people to the appropriate departments.
• Monitor Hospital alarms and follow policy/procedures for all emergency codes.
• Communicate effectively with the population served.
