Job summary

ProMedica in Monroe Regional Hospital's Central Transport department seeks a Patient Transporter to move patients safely between rooms and transport equipment. You will ensure equipment is safe for use, report defects, and assist with cleaning and line changes when not transporting.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Training: equipment usage, clinical aspects, customer service, patient mobility, and infection control.
• Certification: Health Care Provider (HCP) certification.

Responsibilities

• Transports, assists in lifting, turning and transferring patients with RN approval.
• Cleans and maintains transportation equipment; reports defects promptly.
• Monitors patients during transport and ensures safety; reports malfunctions.
• Monitors portable oxygen tanks and delivers clinical equipment as directed.
• Transports other materials and communicates delays.
• Remains accountable for hand-off communication with the next caregiver.
