Job summary

Corpus Christi Medical Center is seeking a dedicated transporter to move patients safely within the hospital and to imaging areas. The role includes basic clerical duties and providing compassionate care while maintaining patient modesty and privacy.

Required BCLS and prior hospital transport experience are preferred. This position supports a team-based approach and emphasizes service excellence across patients, physicians, and staff.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
• Prior hospital-based patient transport experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate cooperation of hospital staff in a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.
• Provide outstanding service to patients, physicians, employees and guests.
• Identify and complete tasks, seek guidance when needed.
• Maintain awareness of personal limitations and request guidance when appropriate.
• Prioritize activities based on service demands.
• Be vigilant for errors and take corrective actions as needed.
• Respect patient rights, confidentiality, and informed decision-making.
• Refer to available resources for ethical concerns as needed.
• Practice cost-efficiency.
• Perform technical skills per established standards and annual validations.
• Transport patients to/from imaging areas and escort to hospital areas.
• Assist file clerk with clerical duties.
