Job summary

Towne Park, LLC is seeking an Observational Sitter at Mercy Hospital South St Louis. This non-clinical role involves bedside observation, assisting with patient needs, and reporting to nursing staff. No nursing care is provided; training is provided to perform duties safely.

The position offers starting pay of $16 per hour, benefits for full- and part-time employees, and flexible shifts including 6-12 hour blocks, weekends, holidays, and potential bonus pay on select shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent required; hospital experience preferred.
• Minimum of one month prior patient-related experience or training.
• Must be at least 18 years old and pass criminal background and drug screen.
• Ability to read, speak and write standard English; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains pleasant, friendly, professional demeanor at all times.
• Remains at bedside unless relieved by staff.
• Calms and reorients agitated or confused patients.
• Reports hazards and equipment issues to staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean, safe and orderly.
• Answers telephone promptly following Towne Health standards.
• Performs basic non-clinical tasks and alerts nurse for emergencies.
