Towne Park LLC is seeking an Observational Sitter to provide bedside observation for patients at Mercy Hospital South St Louis. This non-clinical role supports nursing staff by monitoring patient activity and maintaining safety, with shifts spanning weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

The position emphasizes clear communication with patients and staff, ability to respond promptly to emergencies, and dependable teamwork in a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 18+ and able to pass background and drug screening.
• Minimum one month of experience with patients or in a related setting preferred.
• Ability to read, write and understand English; comfortable with 24-hour time formats.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside observation for an assigned patient without nursing duties.
• Maintain a calm, friendly, and professional demeanor with patients and staff.
• Alert nursing staff immediately if a medical issue or irregular behavior is observed.
• Assist with simple tasks like reading to the patient, answering phones, and providing water.
• Keep patient bed-side area safe, clean, and organized; report hazards to staff.
• Contribute to bed-side reports and patient activity documentation as directed.
