Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support daily patient care under RN supervision in a hospital setting. You will assist with bathing, feeding, mobility, and basic care, while documenting observations in the EMR and coordinating with units to ensure timely treatment and patient comfort.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to manage priorities in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation.
• Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN.
• Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and communicates observations to RN.
• Performs tasks related to nutritional needs under direction of RN, including diet review and tray setup.
• Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Facilitates communications required to support patient care and screens incoming calls.
• Compiles chart forms for admissions, transfers and discharges and verifies medical records.
