Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital is seeking an experienced painter to prepare and paint interior and exterior hospital surfaces while maintaining a safe and compliant healthcare environment.

The role requires staining, patching, and priming walls, ceilings, doors, and trim, with attention to infection prevention and patient safety. Work may include evenings, nights, or weekends to meet project needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in commercial painting preferred.
• Ability to work in a hospital environment and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other hospital surfaces.
• Apply paints, coatings, varnishes, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment as appropriate.
• Match and blend paint colors to meet hospital standards and specifications.
• Safely work in patient care areas while following procedures.
• Protect patients, staff, equipment, and furnishings using containment, masking, and dust control methods; set up and remove work areas with infection prevention in mind.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, Joint Commission, and hospital safety requirements.
• Perform minor drywall repairs, plastering, and surface restoration.
• Store, label, and dispose of paint and hazardous materials per regulations.
• Coordinate work schedules to minimize disruption, including evenings, nights, or weekends when required.
• May flex regular shift times to accommodate projects and customer needs.
• Perform maintenance tasks as needed, including light bulb changes, filter maintenance, cleaning, power washing, and assisting maintenance technicians.
