Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Palmdale, CA. You will accurately implement the patient plan of care designed by the occupational therapist, and perform activities ranging from exercises to ADL training within licensure scope.

You should have a CA license, BLS certification, and at least one year of OT assistant experience. Strong communication and organizational skills are required, with the ability to collaborate with the care team.

Qualifications

• One year of occupational therapy assistant experience preferred.
• Completion of an AA degree from an approved program.
• Current California license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• BLS (AHA) current certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements the patient plan of care under the supervision of an OT.
• Performs therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and cognitive/perceptual activities.
• Applies therapeutic principles and ensures accurate interpretation of results.
• Maintains patient records and communicates progress with the care team.
• Assists in program development and patient/family education.
