Qualifications

• Certified Dietary Manager or Dietetic Technician registration may be required by state or regulatory agency.
• Active membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics may be mandated by state or regulatory agency.
• Graduate of an associate degree program in food service preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of nutrition, dietetics, administration, and HACCP guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Supports Nutrition Service Manager in absence and oversees purchasing, receiving, and inventory control of food and supplies.
• Maintains sanitation and proper temperatures to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintains correct food handling techniques per regulatory agencies.
• Determines quality, quantity, and portion size of food required for patient meals and cafeteria lines.
• Coordinates dietetic services with other departments and purchases food; assists with special occasions.
• Ensures in-service education meetings are held and courses are completed as required.
