Job summary

College Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Nutrition Assistant to support daily meal service for patients and hospital guests. You will assist with food preparation and ensure tray delivery aligns with dietary guidelines under supervision of the RD.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of healthcare food service experience and be able to stand long hours. Candidates must be able to stand up to 12 hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and obtain a Food Handler's Permit and ServeSafe within 30 days

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of food service experience, preferably in healthcare, in a high-volume environment.
• Proficient with Cerner, reading census information, and using department software to manage dietary guidelines and ensure proper tray delivery to patients.
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Ability to obtain (or already have) a Food Handler's Permit for AZ and ServeSafe Certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve menu items according to standardized recipes and department service standards.
• Support hospital in areas of food service, nutrition, stocking nourishments, and dishes.
• Follow guidelines for patient diet restrictions and management.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following health department standards, regulatory procedures, and sanitation and safety standards.
• Maintain kitchen and storage areas following local regulatory standards and company leadership standards.
• Complete all assigned tasks while on duty adhering to safety standards and policies.
• Complete initial educational training modules and any subsequent modules assigned by CMC on time.
• Attend staff meetings or additional educational modules assigned by leadership.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for serving food and assisting with minor food preparation while following department leadership direction, dietitian expectations, and established service procedures. This individual will comply with all food service regulations established by the Maricopa County Department of Health while upholding the ethics and moral standards of College Medical Center. Qualifications

• At least 1 year of food service experience (preferably healthcare experience) in a high volume food service environment
• Proficient in use of Cerner, reading census information, and using department software to manage dietary guidelines and ensure proper tray delivery to patients
• Consult with RD to assist in care plans for patients
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Ability to obtain (or already have) a Food Handler's Permit for AZ. Ability to obtain a ServeSafe Certification. Must have FH or ServeSafe within 30 days of hire date
• Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays. Day or night shift as required
• Must be able to stand for long periods (up to 12 hours), lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and work in high-volume environments

Job-Specific Duties

• Support hospital in areas of food service, nutrition, stocking nourishments, and dishes
• Follow guidelines for patient diet restrictions and management
• Maintain a safe working environment by following health department standards, regulatory procedures, kitchen logs, and ensuring kitchen equipment is used and maintained to proper standards
• Maintain all kitchen and storage areas following local regulatory standards, department and company leadership standards, and required sanitation and safety standards
• Complete all assigned tasks while on duty adhering to safety standards and policies of CMC
• Complete initial educational training modules and any subsequent modules assigned by CMC on time, and complete additional training within required timeframes

Additional Responsibilities

• Attend all staff meetings or additional educational modules assigned by leadership

Compensation

Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
