Job summary

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of food service supervisor experience (preferably healthcare) in a high-volume environment.
  • Proficiency in use and maintenance of kitchen and sanitation equipment.
  • Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to obtain (or already have) a Food Handler’s Permit for AZ; ability to obtain ServeSafe Certification; FH and ServeSafe within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to work weekdays, weekends, holidays; day or night shift as required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours), lift up to 50 lbs, and work in high-volume environments.

  • Supervise preparation of cooks, nutrition staff, and dishwashers to serve all menu items according to standardized recipes and department service standards.
  • Ensure all kitchen staff are properly trained and follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist in kitchen ordering, purchasing, and maintain storage areas according to leadership standards.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation while following recipes and department standards.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment and supplies are kept in good working order.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following health department standards, regulatory procedures, and kitchen logs; ensure equipment is used and maintained to department standards.
  • Manage and maintain all kitchen and storage areas in compliance with local regulatory standards and company leadership standards.
  • Assist in menu planning and development.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills in managing dietary staff.
  • Complete all assigned tasks during duty periods in accordance with safety standards and CMC policies.
  • Complete initial and subsequent training modules on time and complete additional training as required.

The Dietary Supervisor is responsible for the overall operation, performance, and supervision of kitchen staff while maintaining a safe, sanitary, and efficient work environment. This role implements safety and sanitation standards, complies with food service regulations established by the Maricopa County Department of Health, and upholds the ethics and values of College Medical Center. The ideal candidate aligns with the mission, vision, and values of CMC and can interact with, relate to, and support a diverse workforce.

Compensation and Employment Details

Placement in the pay range is based on factors including relevant years of experience and qualifications. Compensation may include additional pay such as shift differential. The posted compensation is a reasonable estimate based on the time of posting.
