Job summary

College Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Dietary Supervisor to oversee the preparation, cooking, and service of food for patients, staff, and hospital guests. Lead kitchen staff, ensure safety and sanitation, and uphold the center's mission and values.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in food service supervision, preferably healthcare, in high‑volume settings.
  • Proficient with kitchen and sanitation equipment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise cooks, nutrition staff, and dishwashers to meet standardized recipes and service standards.
  • Ensure training and compliance with all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist in kitchen ordering and storage under leadership guidance.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation per recipes and standards.
  • Keep kitchen equipment and supplies in good working order.
  • Maintain a safe work environment following health department standards and logs.
  • Oversee all kitchen and storage areas per regulatory standards.
  • Assist in menu planning and development.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills with dietary staff.
  • Complete tasks on duty while adhering to CMC safety policies.
  • Finish initial and ongoing training modules on time.

Job Summary

College Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Dietary Supervisor to oversee the preparation, cooking, and service of food for patients, staff, and hospital guests. The Dietary Supervisor will be responsible for the overall operation, performance, and supervision of kitchen staff while maintaining a safe, sanitary, and efficient work environment. This individual will be expected to implement safety and sanitation standards, comply with all food service regulations established by the Maricopa County Department of Health, and uphold the ethics and moral standards of College Medical Center. The ideal candidate will align with the mission, vision, and values of CMC and demonstrate the ability to interact with, relate to, and support a diverse workforce.

Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of food service supervisor experience (preferably healthcare) in a high‑volume environment.
  • Proficient in use and maintenance of kitchen and sanitation equipment.
  • Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • High‑School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain (or already have) an Arizona Food Handlers Permit and must obtain ServeSafe Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, day or night shifts as required.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods (12‑hour shifts), lift up to 50 lbs, and work in high‑volume environments.
Job‑Specific Duties
  • Supervise preparation of cooks, nutrition staff, and dishwashers to serve all menu items according to standardized recipes and department service standards.
  • Ensure that all kitchen staff are properly trained and follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist in kitchen ordering, purchasing, and maintain storage areas under leadership standards.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation while following recipes and department standards.
  • Help ensure all kitchen equipment and supplies are kept in good working order.
  • Maintain a safe working environment following health department standards, regulatory procedures, kitchen logs, and ensuring that all equipment is used and maintained per department standards.
  • Manage and maintain all kitchen and storage areas following local regulatory standards, department and company leadership standards, and required sanitation and safety standards.
  • Assist in menu planning and development.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills in managing all dietary staff.
  • Complete all assigned tasks while on duty, adhering to safety standards and policies of CMC.
  • Complete initial educational training modules and any subsequent modules assigned by CMC on time, and complete additional training within the required timeframe.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Attend any and all staff meetings, or additional educational modules assigned by leadership.
Special Skills (Preferred, Not Required)
  • Spanish speaking.
Compensation

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant years of experience and qualifications. Compensation may include shift differential and other special pay practices. The posted compensation for the position is an estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CMC Phoenix in good faith believes it might pay for this role based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
