Job summary

College Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Dishwasher to support daily kitchen operations and maintain cleanliness throughout all kitchen areas of the hospital. The ideal candidate will wash and properly store cooking utensils, equipment, flatware, and glassware, while ensuring receiving, storage, and dish areas remain clean, sanitary, and organized.

This role requires adherence to health regulations and upholds the ethics and professional standards of CMC.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of food service experience (preferably healthcare) in a high-volume environment.
• Proficient in the use and maintenance of kitchen and sanitation equipment.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to obtain (or already have) a Food Handler Permit for AZ.
• Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Day or night shift as required.
• Must be able to stand for long periods (up to 12 hours), lift up to 50 lbs, and work in high-volume environments.

Responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen area clean and tidy at all times to prevent health or safety hazards.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following health department standards, regulatory procedures, kitchen logs, and proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
• Maintain all kitchen and storage areas according to local regulatory standards, department and leadership standards, and required sanitation and safety standards.
• Collect trash from kitchen areas, empty garbage, break down and dispose of boxes, and remove debris.
• Wash and clean receiving, trash, and all kitchen-related areas.
• Perform deep cleaning tasks as directed by dietary leadership.
• Use all chemicals in a safe and efficient manner.
• Manage and clean the mop room and keep it in safe working order.
• Complete assigned tasks while on duty in accordance with safety standards and CMC policies.
• Complete initial educational training modules and any subsequent modules assigned by CMC on time, and complete additional training when required.
