Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Public Safety Officer for Elmhurst Hospital in Elmhurst, IL. This full-time, night-shift role (6pm–6am) focuses on unarmed security, safety services, and protecting people and property within hospital grounds.

Required: High School Diploma or GED and at least one year in a customer-focused role. Preferred: two years in law enforcement or healthcare security; CPI certification; valid state FOID may be required; CPR certification within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year experience in a customer-focused service-based organization.
• Knowledge base from two years of experience in law enforcement, military or private security (preferred).
• Experience in healthcare environment (preferred).
• Fundamental understanding of computers, loss prevention and fire/security technology (preferred).
• CP I (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas of facilities and grounds on foot or by vehicle.
• Report incidents or potential loss and involve police when necessary.
• Respond to service calls in a timely, safe and courteous manner.
• Guide patients and visitors to locations and provide escort when needed.
• Direct vehicle traffic around hospital facilities and manage parking citations.
• Investigate and document thefts, accidents and incidents to gather evidence.
