Job summary

Penobscot Valley Hospital is seeking a Nurse Manager to oversee inpatient services with a focus on ED readiness and high-quality patient care. The role requires Maine RN licensure and strong leadership to guide clinical staff across shifts.

Responsibilities include staffing oversight, quality improvement participation, and collaboration with hospital leadership. BSN preferred; BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC/STABLE are required or obtainable. This is a full-time night/weekend position in Maine.

Qualifications

• Current Maine nursing license; BSN preferred.
• Two years of recent leadership experience preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and STABLE certifications required; willingness to obtain others as needed.

Responsibilities

• Act as on-duty administrator during evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Perform rounds to assess patient care quality and work environment.
• Coordinate staffing to ensure safe patient care and appropriate resource use.
• Ensure nursing care is documented per policy and nursing process.
• Assist in medication management after hours and IV solution preparation as needed.
