Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Supply Technician (Medical) to support the Medical Supply Distribution areas within the VA Health Care System.

You will provide wards, clinics, operating rooms, and other hospital facilities with sterile and non-sterile medical supplies and instrument sets. The role requires experience in inventory and stock management, strong attention to expiration dates, and daily barcode-based inventory checks.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in supplying and distributing medical supplies.
• Experience with bar-coding, receiving, storing, and distributing inventory.

Responsibilities

• Pulls stock inventory and material for delivery
• Replenishes stock inventory
• Interacts with clinical and administrative customers and maintains records on stock levels
• Communicates to the Lead or Supervisor any concerns related to supplies and procedures
• Provides information to customers regarding medical supplies
• Monitors expiration dates and rotates stock to limit outdates
• Monitors and controls critical supplies
• Performs daily inventory using bar coding equipment on a predetermined schedule
• Resolves differences between records and physical count of stock
• Distributes items according to established or ad hoc requirements in computerized inventory management systems
• Delivers supplies in a timely manner and ensures supplies are sterile and operational
• Completes specialty cart preparation
• Cleans assigned secondary areas in accordance with aseptic principles
• Receives supplies and material into the medical center's catchment area
• Work Schedule: Full-Time - Monday - Friday - 7:00am-3:30pm
