Job summary

The VA Boston Healthcare System, West Roxbury Campus, is seeking a Supply Technician (Medical) to support the Medical Supply Distribution (MSD) areas within Logistics Service. Responsibilities include providing sterile and non-sterile medical supplies, instrument sets, and equipment to wards, clinics, and operating rooms.

The role requires standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds, plus pushing carts over 100 pounds with assistance.

Qualifications

Selective Placement Factor (SPF) requires a valid/current state Driver's License.
Specialized experience includes providing supplies to clinical and administrative areas and maintaining inventory records.
Education substitution allows 4 years of education above high school level with transcript required.
Combination: equivalent combination of specialized experience and post-high school education with transcripts.

Responsibilities

Provide wards, clinics, operating rooms, and other hospital facilities with medical and surgical supplies and equipment.
Scan, barcode, receive, store and distribute medical supplies and instrument sets.
Pull stock, replenish stock and maintain stock level records.
Monitor expiration dates of supplies and instruments.
Clean assigned areas following aseptic principles.
Use an automated system to maintain inventory.
