Job summary

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform a range of hospital maintenance duties, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and equipment repairs. The role requires operating building management systems, inspecting utilities, and supporting renovation projects within a major health system in New York.

Candidates should have a relevant diploma or related experience and the ability to obtain required certifications promptly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or trade/vocational diploma, or completion of a training program recognized by the hospital, or 7 years related maintenance mechanic experience in health care industry preferred
• Experience in operating building maintenance and construction tasks
• Experience in operating Computerized Building Management Systems (BMS)

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspection of major utilities systems such as heating, domestic hot water, electrical, emergency power distribution system, plumbing, medical gas, vacuum, oxygen readings, and fire alarm systems; document results and troubleshoot abnormalities
• Manage HVAC system operations via Building Management System and adjust temperatures, monitor chillers and boilers
• Respond to fire system alarms and reset to normal from control panel
• Obtain G-17 Certificate of Fitness from NYC FD
• Repair hospital beds, stretchers, chairs, fixtures, doors, and other equipment
• Replace and maintain hospital fixtures and moveable equipment
• Perform coil cleaning and filter replacements
• Assist with renovations and general hospital maintenance projects
• Expose to industrial power tools and heavy lifting
• Survey plant areas to troubleshoot mechanical, structural, or plumbing problems
• Repair air conditioning systems and heating sections as needed
• Perform other assignments as instructed by Supervisor
