Job summary

Weill Cornell Medicine is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to provide maintenance and repair services for infrastructure and architectural systems on campus. The role operates under direct supervision and supports critical building systems across multiple locations in New York City.

Responsibilities include handling service requests, preventive maintenance, HVAC+R work, plumbing, carpentry, and building automation monitoring.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Technical school training in maintenance trades or significant comparable experience.
• 2–5 years of general maintenance experience in large institutions or facilities.
• Valid NYS driver’s license with acceptable driving record (if vehicle use required).
• Maintain FDNY Certifications: A35, C42, F60, G46, G60, G71, P98, P99, S12, S13.

Responsibilities

• Completes and submits service requests and preventive maintenance tasks with time/material spent.
• Assists with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of HVAC+R systems.
• Assists in maintenance of plumbing systems and operation of power drain cleaning machines.
• Performs routine carpentry repair and installation work.
• Monitors and operates building automation systems.
