Job summary

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Able to learn and operate heavy battery operated floor care equipment.
• Prior housekeeping experience preferred.
• Previous floor refinishing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure and maintain cleanliness of assigned areas (bathroom, showers, corridors, patient rooms, common areas, staff facilities, public areas, and department offices).
• Details include cleaning of hospital/patient areas, dusting, sweeping, mopping, floor care, wall washing, restocking, linen distribution, collection and inventory, patient discharge beds, vacuuming, equipment movement, trash disposal, medical waste handling, and recycling.
• Clean and supply assigned areas using mechanical equipment, tools, cleaning solutions and supplies.
• Prepare cleaning solutions, supplies and equipment for housekeeping tasks.
• Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, vents, windows, doors and other dusty areas per procedures.
• Clean bathrooms and fixtures, replenish soap and paper supplies as needed.
• Disinfect rooms, beds and patient furniture with germicidal solution.
• Operate machines as needed (floor care equipment, etc.).
• Follow department regulations, safety standards, and procedures.
• May require use of battery operated floor care equipment, auto scrubbing, burnisher, and floor refinishing knowledge.
