Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Plumber for Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. The role installs and services plumbing fixtures across the Medical Center, performs pipe-fitting duties, and conducts tests to keep systems in good condition.

Related duties are performed as needed. Responsibilities include laying out, assembling, altering, removing, installing pipes and fixtures, hydrostatic testing, drain cleaning, reading blueprints, and coordinating with related trades.

Qualifications

• High School or Trade/ Vocational School diploma specializing in plumbing or completion of a BIMC-recognized training program.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in plumbing; basic mechanical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lays out, assembles, alters, removes, installs and repairs pipes, fittings and fixture systems including sanitary, heating, water supply and related equipment.
• Performs pipe fitting duties; cuts holes, threads, welds, brazes or solders piping; installs pipe flanges, gaskets and bolts.
• Installs, changes and repairs valves and controls; cleans drains; replaces fixtures like lavatories, water closets, tubs and showers.
• Performs hydrostatic and other pressure tests and conducts repairs to keep systems efficient.
• Traces and locates service lines, reads blueprints and inspects systems regularly.
