Job summary

Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform semi-skilled maintenance across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and related trades, including HVAC service and routine upgrades.

You will use manual and power tools and document repairs with time and materials, while responding to emergencies during storms and events. Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area and report progress to supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift or maneuver 50 lbs.
• NYS Driver’s License required.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and Carpentry.
• Five years of experience semi-skilled technical work, preferably in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, metal work, mechanical equipment repairs and routine maintenance.
• Use manual and power tools to complete repairs.
• Document repairs, time and materials on maintenance forms.
• Respond to emergency situations during storms or other events.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe work area.
• Keep supervisor informed of job status, inventory and relevant issues.
• Demonstrate good attendance and provide adequate notice for time off.
