Job summary

Lowell General Hospital is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to perform general maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspection, repair, overhauls and construction tasks across hospital buildings and grounds. Responsibilities include electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC-related work, reading blueprints, operating tools, safety compliance, and assisting with snow removal.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of building maintenance; on-the-job training in trades

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of building maintenance experience is preferred.
• On-the-job training in one or more building trades is expected.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrical repairs (switches, ballasts, motors, controls).
• Performs plumbing (drains, fixtures, rodding, cleaning).
• Performs minor carpentry (doors, shelving, locks).
• Repairs plaster, brickwork or concrete; solders and welds as needed.
