Job summary

Care New England is seeking a hospital maintenance worker to perform minor mechanical repairs and installations across the campus under no on-site supervision. You will respond to emergencies such as fire alarms and elevator problems, repair plumbing, and perform routine preventive maintenance on facilities equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 1 year job-related experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms and elevator problems.
• Repair minor plumbing problems and unblock drains; repair beds and mechanical equipment; repair and paint doors, walls and ceilings.
• Assess maintenance problems and determine when supervisor direction is needed.
• Attend to routine HVAC problems across the hospital.
• Perform preventative maintenance on hospital facilities equipment.
• Complete installation of wall-hung boards and assemble minor equipment promptly.
• On second shift, answer Engineering department phones and respond to repair calls.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
