Job summary

MSS Solutions, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Roper III for Berkeley Roper St. Francis Hospital in Summerville, SC.

The role entails electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry tasks across the facility, focusing on preventive and corrective maintenance and safety. Work at the hospital location with a collaborative team, respond to on-call repairs, maintain logs and work orders, and ensure compliance with SDS and LOTO procedures.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in repair and maintenance of health care facilities.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and physical plant equipment.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Fluent in English (speak, read, write).
• Working knowledge of computers (Word, Excel, Outlook, PDA).
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading project management processes.
• Proven record of customer service.
• Knowledge of SDS and Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Background check and drug test successful.

Responsibilities

• Electrical: Repair and maintain lighting fixtures, ballasts, and circuit switches.
• Electrical: Repair, replace and/or maintain 115V outlets and circuits.
• Electronic systems: Operate and test fire alarm, security, timers.
• Plumbing: Repair toilets, drains, valves, and water systems.
• Preventive maintenance on plumbing, HVAC, and equipment.
• Carpentry: Repair furniture, patch walls, tile work, roof repairs.
• Flooring: Repair ceramic and vinyl floors.
• HVAC: Operate systems, change filters, lubricate motors/pumps/fans, assist repairs.
• General: Clean/maintain mechanical rooms, complete work orders, assist with new equipment.
• Respond to on-call emergency repairs and after-hours.
• Maintain logs and close work requests using PC and PDA.
