Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support hospital facilities, performing preventative maintenance and repairs across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other systems to ensure safety and reliability for patients and staff.

The role emphasizes independent work, adherence to regulatory standards, and opportunities for growth within a national inpatient rehabilitation leader.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Experience in preventative maintenance, equipment repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and/or construction.
• Licensing in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC preferred; valid driver's license may be required; healthcare experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Test and operate emergency power supply system (EPSS) and components.
• Install, maintain, repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pneumatic, oxygen, and telephone systems.
• Work independently under the direction of the supervisor within assigned timelines.
• Maintain knowledge of facility systems and regulatory standards.
• Plan, interpret, draw, and record work; report daily completion to supervisor.
• Perform control maintenance, building construction and repair, and equipment overhaul.
• Keep records and report to supervisor.
