Job summary

Ochsner Health in New Orleans, LA is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to support the operation, repair, and maintenance of hospital facilities and equipment. This role includes participating in the accredited Facilities Apprenticeship Program and completing scheduled trainings and inspections.

You will perform general inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing items, while maintaining documentation and adhering to policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred experience in trades or pre-apprenticeship program.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in the state accredited Facilities Apprenticeship Program.
• Performs general inspections, troubleshooting and repairs of minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing items within the hospital or clinic setting.
• Unclogs plumbing lines, replaces light bulbs, replaces ceiling tile, repairs leaking faucets, and touches up paint.
• Completes preventive maintenance inspections in accordance to scheduled checkpoints and maintains documentation appropriately.
• Reports on time to the program's designated sites and completes all scheduled classes, labs, study periods, and any other activities required by the training partner.
