Job summary

New Hall Hospital in Salisbury is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join the facilities team. You will help maintain the upkeep and presentation of the hospital, report to the Facilities Manager, and contribute to a safe, welcoming environment.

This hands-on role requires reliability, general maintenance know-how, and a proactive attitude to repairs, painting, and routine servicing across the site, including some out-of-hours work to ensure access and operations remain seamless.

Qualifications

• General maintenance knowledge and experience.
• Good understanding of Health and Safety procedures and best practice.
• Good communication skills.
• Confident team player.
• Clean, valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out painting and decorating tasks across the hospital premises.
• Perform general handyman duties, such as minor repairs and maintenance jobs.
• Support the engineering team with routine maintenance activities as required.
• Assist with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to ensure facilities are fully operational.
• Respond to urgent maintenance needs, including some out-of-hours work for access requirements.
