Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join the team at Ascension St Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN. The role involves receiving and sorting clinical specimens, preparing samples for testing, data entry, and maintaining equipment in a high-volume lab environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of medical/clinical experience, with a preference for 1 year in a hospital lab setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months or more medical or clinical industry work experience.
• 1 year or more of medical/lab experience in a hospital lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
