Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Tampa, FL. The role involves receiving and sorting clinical lab specimens, preparing them for testing, and performing data entry with a strong emphasis on accuracy and safety.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference for 3+ months of specimen processing or medical/lab experience. It is a fast-paced, team-oriented role with OT flexibility and growth opportunities in a respected diagnostic laboratory network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 months or more of specimen processing experience.
• 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.
