Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is hiring a full-time Sous Chef at Ochsner American Legion Hospital in Jennings, LA. The role supports the Executive Chef, coordinates cooks, and ensures quality and timely meal preparation for patients and staff.

The ideal candidate has prior cooking and supervisory experience, can follow approved recipes and production standards, and maintains sanitation and inventory control. This is a hands-on leadership kitchen role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking and supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates; interviews, schedules, payroll, training, and performance reviews as needed.
• Stores food in designated areas following all safety and sanitation procedures.
• Maintains proper food handling, portion control, and serving temperatures.
• Ensures sanitation of equipment, supplies, and workstation; keeps area clean during meal service.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints and communicates with supervisor.
• Provides clear explanations of daily menu items to associates and customers.
• Monitors peak production and service hours and tracks inventory and waste.
