Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Irvine, CA is seeking a food service assistant to support patient trays, cafeteria and catering operations. Under supervision, you will prepare food, assemble trays, deliver to pantries and meeting rooms, and help maintain sanitation across work areas.

Qualifications

• English literacy required and able to follow written and oral instructions.
• HS Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull carts weighing 100 lbs or more.

Responsibilities

• Upholds Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures and applicable laws.
• Assembles all food and non-food items for patient trays, cafeteria, and catering services.
• Delivers food carts with patient meals to pantries and meeting rooms.
• Collects soiled dishes and returns them to the dish room.
• Maintains quality and appearance of all food items and proper storage per HACCP guidelines.
• Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains dishes, carts, equipment, work areas, and pantry stations.
• Monitors stock levels and assists with inventory and disposal of outdated foods.
• Communicates effectively with patients, doctors, staff, vendors, and coworkers.
• Maintains written records such as logs, menus, forms, and scheduling activities.
• May provide training and orientation.
