Job summary

Bartow Center in Florida is seeking an experienced cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the Dietary Supervisor's absence. You will prepare nutritious meals, follow menus, and ensure safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities include recording temperatures, preparing pureed foods, assisting with meal service, supervising dietary staff when required, and maintaining cleaning schedules. A ServSafe certificate and prior hospital/long-term care kitchen experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least one year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
• Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Record food temperatures for meals and prepare pure9ed foods.
• Assist with serving the different meals and maintain serving carts.
• Clean cooking area and serving carts; report resident care concerns to Administrator/Director of Nurses.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Supervise when required; ensure cleaning schedules are followed.
