Job summary

Bartow is seeking an experienced cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor, reporting to the Dietary Supervisor. The role includes preparing meals for residents, following menus, and ensuring safety and sanitation standards are met.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of hospital or long-term care cooking experience, and a valid ServSafe certificate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long term care facility for not less than one year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
• Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides; prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures; prepare pureed foods; work with staff from all departments.
• Maintain sanitizer buckets; assist with serving meals and cleaning areas.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator/Director of Nurses; participate in training of dietary staff.
• Supervise where required and work under supervision; ensure cleaning schedules are followed.
