Job summary

The Groves Center in Lake Wales, FL is seeking an experienced cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will prepare meals, follow menus, and ensure sanitary kitchen conditions in a hospital/long-term care setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of hospital/long-term care cooking experience, and a valid ServSafe Certificate. PCC knowledge is preferred and adherence to health regulations is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long term care facility for not less than one year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
• Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Ability to prepare tasteful meals and to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Record food temperatures for the meals and prepare pureed foods.
• Assist with serving the different meals and clean cooking area and serving carts.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator or Director of Nurses.
• Participate in onboarding and training of dietary staff.
• Supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
